Mental Health Reset Vlog | Honest Girl Talk, Butterfly Loc Takedown + Self Care

Life has been really heavy lately. In today’s vlog, I’m starting the morning with a very real and unfiltered conversation about my mental health, grief, everything I’ve been carrying, and what it feels like when life starts to become emotionally overwhelming. I’ve been mourning the loss of my friend while also navigating a lot personally, and I wanted to be honest about what this season has looked like instead of pretending everything is okay. After getting everything off my chest, I decided to push myself to do something that usually helps me feel more grounded: take care of myself. I soak off my nails, start taking down the butterfly locs I’ve had in for the past several weeks, detangle my natural hair, shampoo and condition it, and slowly work through a much-needed self-care reset. Nothing about this day was perfect or glamorous. It was simply me choosing to pour a little love back into myself when I needed it most. Sometimes self-care is not candles, bubble baths, or having everything together. Sometimes it is getting out of bed, washing your hair, taking your nails off, slowing down, and reminding yourself that you are still worth caring for even when life feels heavy. This is part one of my self-care reset. In the next vlog, I’ll be doing my hair and nails and continuing the process of getting back to feeling a little more like myself.
