Canadian Poet & Essayist Anne Carson Wins Nobel For Transforming Literary Forms | APT

The 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to Canadian author Anne Carson, the Swedish Academy announced. The 76-year-old poet and essayist was honoured for her “bold and inventive works” that engage playfully with classical tradition while creating new forms for contemporary literature. Nobel Committee chair Anders Olsson said Carson’s writing brings together the philologist’s fascination with words and the poet’s search for new meaning. Carson, who was in Iceland listening to the wind when she received the news, was reportedly surprised and overjoyed by the Nobel announcement. #annecarson #nobelprize #nobelliterature #literature #poetry #canada #swedishacademy #nobelprizeinliterature Join this channel to get access to perks:    / @apt_news
