Monet painting the same thing over and over, waiting for the light to change - filmed in true 4K macro. Made for the Samsung Frame TV, LG Gallery, and any other 4K screen. Three hours across 27 paintings by Claude Monet alone: the Houses of Parliament through London fog, Waterloo Bridge at dusk and at sunset, the west front of Rouen Cathedral in morning light and in grey weather, the Doge's Palace on the Venetian lagoon. The camera moves slowly across each canvas, close enough to see brushwork, cracked varnish, and bare weave. No slideshow. No cuts to black. No upscaling and no AI-generated imagery - these are photographs of real paintings. These are the series years. From 1892 Monet stopped painting subjects and started painting light. He would set up a row of canvases and move along them as the hour changed, working each one only while the light that belonged to it lasted. Rouen Cathedral got around thirty canvases. London got close to a hundred. Four Waterloo Bridges run in this collection - grey day, dusk, sunset, and plain daylight. Four views of Rouen Cathedral. Three of the Houses of Parliament. Watch them come round and you are watching the same stone at four different hours. It opens in Venice, at the Doge's Palace, and closes at the church of Vernon in full sun. Turn on captions (CC) for a docent commentary - what is in the painting, what to look for, the size of the real canvas, and where it hangs today. Korean captions are included; YouTube translates the rest into over a hundred languages.
