Bury Branch Canal Restoration, Little Lever - 24 Oct UPDATE - Manchester, Bolton & Bury Canal #4K

Welcome back to Bimble by Drone! Although, thanks to wind and rain caused by Storm Boelo, today's video is a Bimble by Boots :-) I walked down to the canal restoration site with my Osmo Action 5 Pro camera to see what progress has been made since my previous visit last weekend, and wasn't disappointed! The concrete bored piles around the breach site have now been cropped to level and a layer of blinding concrete has been poured in the trench beside the piles ready for the steel fixers to build the reinforced concrete capping beam. At the east end, the formwork is being installed for the stop plank walls on both sides of the canal channel, and I spotted what looked like a delivery of stop planks waiting to be installed once the concrete structure is complete. There has also been some interesting soil clearance along the top of the huge retaining wall to the east of the breach, between the wall and the towpath, so clearly some retaining wall work is being planned as the housing foundations progress east towards this location.
