Project Hobhole | Protecting the East and West Fens for Generations to Come

Hobhole Pumping Station has helped protect the East and West Fens for more than 70 years. It is a vital part of the infrastructure that supports the people, communities, businesses, farmland and essential services that depend on this unique Lincolnshire landscape. But the existing pumping station is reaching the end of its serviceable life. Project Hobhole will replace the existing station with modern, resilient infrastructure designed to protect and support the East and West Fens for the next 70 years and beyond. The project is already underway, with the design phase beginning now and construction planned to commence in June 2029, continuing through to 2033. Delivering this vital infrastructure requires partnership. W4IDB is seeking investment partners to help address a £17 million partnership funding requirement, with opportunities to contribute throughout the duration of the project.
