Chrysler killed DeSoto in 1960, after its final cars had been in production for just 47 days.
That's just the beginning. These are 15 American cars that vanished from memory: a supercharged Packard built only 588 times, a luxury Lincoln that drag racers wanted for one hidden part, a Chrysler flagship whose dealers ripped out its high-tech fuel injection, and a forgotten sedan that quietly shaped Chrysler's future.
Some failed. Some were sabotaged by their own companies. One was simply too far ahead of its time. All of them deserve to be remembered.
