On Sunday 11 October 1896 Sun Yat-sen was taken into the Chinese Legation on Portland Place, London, and held until 23 October. In Sun's own account, the notes he threw from his window never reached a friend. This is the story, as Sun told it, of the servant, the unsigned letter, the doctor who knocked on every door in London, and the newspaper that finally printed it.
Most of the detail comes from Sun's own account, so it is one side of the story. Where other accounts disagree (how he was led inside, who wrote the unsigned letter), the video says so.
