I wanted a saw that was under 4oz, that the blade could fold, or be taken off for compact carry, with no small tools or parts to loose, was durable, and actually worked. The knifepoint gear backpacking saw was the answer! Turns out other people wanted them too, so we started selling them. It fits a very specific purpose just like other lightweight pieces of backpacking gear. Not unlike a dyneem tent, tarp, or alcohol stove. It does take some skill to use properly. It uses made in use carbon fiber, and custom machined stainless and aluminum components. This saw isnt for everyone. If you have to ask why, then its probably not for you.
