Inside Dark Hollow: The Free Scare Zone You Shouldn't Miss at Alton Towers Scarefest (Sep 2026) [4K]

[4K] Dark Hollow at Alton Towers Scarefest 2026, join us for a walkthrough of this free outdoor scare zone as restless spirits and sinister creatures emerge from the shadows of Dark Forest, drawing guests deeper into the darkness.    / @planitpark   Dark Hollow first opened for Scarefest in 2025 and returns to Alton Towers for Halloween 2026. The free-flowing scare zone expands the supernatural world surrounding TH13TEEN and Dark Forest, transforming the woodland pathway with live scare actors, eerie scenery and a mysterious presence watching from amongst the trees. Dark Forest is already home to TH13TEEN, the supernatural rollercoaster built around the discovery of an ancient crypt and the mysterious forces disturbed during its excavation. Dark Hollow takes that story beyond the ride, with ancient roots stirring beneath the forest and shadows moving between the hollow trees as guests make their way through the scare zone. Unlike the separately ticketed scare mazes, Dark Hollow is a free outdoor experience included with theme park admission. It is joined by Burial Grounds near Wicker Man, where The Unchosen inhabit ancient burial grounds inspired by the mythology of the Beornen. Together, Dark Hollow and Burial Grounds provide two free-flowing scare zones across Alton Towers for Scarefest 2026. The 2026 scare maze line-up includes the new Final Exhibit alongside Edge of the Forest, COMPOUND and Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny's Revenge. Scarefest also brings Halloween entertainment throughout the park and the opportunity to experience Alton Towers after dark, when rides including TH13TEEN, Wicker Man, Nemesis Reborn, The Smiler, Oblivion and Toxicator continue operating into the evening. Alton Towers Scarefest 2026 runs on selected dates from 26th September until 1st November, combining live scare attractions, Halloween entertainment and rides in the dark across the Staffordshire theme park.
