The Rochdale Way

Another lockdown, but once again falling back on finding local walks from home. It was therefore surprising to discover that both 'The Rochdale Way' and Dunwood Park were accessible through countryside and public footpaths. The Rochdale Way runs in between Newhey and Milnrow. The route is part of a long distance circular walk of 45 miles, but also local to us. However our route included a short section, which we reached after crossing the M62 Motorway bridge near Kingsway Rochdale. Our start and finish point was from the Rochdale Canal Bridge 58a (Newbold). After the rain some horrendous muddy sections through farmland, but fabulous views on top of surrounding locations.
