This film project was submitted as an entry to our company's Short Horror Film Fest. Disclaimer: We're complete amateurs, as you can clearly tell from the footage. We just wanted to try our hand at filmmaking with a zero-budget setup. About the title: In Bisayan folklore, Urom is the terrifying state often associated with nightmares and sleep paralysis, when one awakens unable to move while sensing an ominous presence nearby. Matá means "to wake up." Together, Urom Matá symbolizes the thin boundary between nightmare and reality, where opening your eyes does not always mean the horror is over.
