The Front Wrap Cross Carry: if you learn one woven wrap carry first, make it this one. It's the true basic, the carry almost everyone starts with, and the one you'll keep coming back to for years across a huge age range.

(Written instructions to follow along with, on my carry catalogue.)
FWCC is built around a horizontal chest pass that supports baby, with two shoulder passes framing their back and crossing under the seat. It works from newborn, and once you have it, it becomes the foundation for so many other carries.
Here's the one thing that makes the biggest difference, and it's what I spend most of my teaching time on: take your time before baby goes in. The height and tightness of that horizontal pass largely decide how easy the whole rest of the carry feels. FWCC rewards patience with tension far more than speed, especially while you're learning. Get the pass right first, and everything after it gets easier.
✅ With a newborn especially, always check:
Close enough to kiss (baby high on your chest)
Chin off the chest, room to breathe
Face always in view
Knees higher than the bum, back supported
