This vlog covers our road journey from Delhi to Chitkul, where we covered total distance of 586 kms in 2 days and an additional 1 hour drive on the 3rd day from Sangla to Chitkul.
Chitkul is the last Indian village known for its cleanest air quality in India, located in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, famous for its Apples.
This route goes through Shima, Narkanda, Rampur Bushahr before reaching Kinnaur.
The most amazing part of this journey was the drive on the Kinnaur route for the 1st time. The scenic yet dangerous roads of Kinnaur route gave us goosebumps. This route is NH-5, The India Tibet highway and amongst one of the most dangerous roads in the world also known as The Cliff Hanger route due to its narrow roads carved through vertical Himalayan cliffs through half tunneling.
Driving on these roads is a mix of fear and excitement and gives you a sense of accomplishment when you drive through.
The Iconic Kinnaur Gate on the way serves as icing on the cake.
