Take Off With Pete | Nadi (Fiji) to Melbourne | Fiji Airways | Airbus A350-900 | QF3866 | Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of 4 of my journey home to Norfolk Island from Kiribati! 🇰🇮🇫🇯🇦🇺🇳🇫 In this leg of the journey, join me aboard Fiji Airways flight FJ935 from Nadi, Fiji to Melbourne, Australia on 8 August 2026, flying Business Class aboard the incredible Airbus A350-900! 🇫🇯✈️🇦🇺 I was seated in 15K for this 5 hour 30 minute journey, enjoying Fiji Airways' Business Class lie-flat sleeper pod and an absolutely fantastic flying experience. We depart Nadi in beautiful clear weather from Runway 20, taking off towards the south-west before climbing away from Fiji and beginning our journey across the South Pacific towards Australia. The Airbus A350-900 is an incredibly impressive aircraft to fly aboard. One thing that really stood out was just how quiet the cabin was, with remarkably little engine or airflow noise despite sitting alongside that enormous Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine. Clear skies provided some fantastic views during the flight, including beautiful scenery around Jervis Bay and views of snow across the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales and Victoria as we continued south towards Melbourne. After around 5 hours and 30 minutes in the comfort of Business Class — including plenty of opportunity to enjoy the fully flat sleeper pod — we descend into Melbourne, completing the second leg of my four-part journey home from Kiribati to Norfolk Island. This was a truly memorable flight and an amazing opportunity to experience Fiji Airways Business Class aboard the A350-900. Thanks so much for coming along for the journey!
