the videos you don’t know you’ll miss

So people! I started clearing space in Google Photos and ended up watching footage of myself at about one year old. What caught my attention was how much those recordings showed me about a life I could barely remember. In this video, I explore why ordinary recordings can become meaningful years later, how our digital records help us remember, and how I’m deciding which family videos deserve extra care. During the cleanup, a folder containing 32 videos arrived in one copy with only 26. The originals were still safe, but that changed how I check my copies before deleting anything. Research mentioned: Hutmacher, Conrad, Appel & Schwan (2025), “Mediated autobiographical remembering in the digital age: insights from an experimental think-aloud study.” Read the study #nostalgia #memories #homevideos #photos #aituhanov
