Spring Garden Dam Removal Begins (B-Roll)

9/10/2026 Today, work began to remove the Spring Garden Dam on Neshaminy Creek inside Tyler State Park, Bucks County. Demolition of the nine-foot-tall dam is expected to last three-to-four weeks. The Pennsylvania DNCR and Fish and Boat Commission say removing the dam will restore the natural flow of the creek, allow for better fish passage for species like American Shad, and make things more convenient and safer for paddlers. Spring Garden Dam is a local landmark, but it has outlived its original purpose as a recreational amenity within the state park. Tyler State Park will remain open throughout the dam removal process, but the public is cautioned to stay away from the construction zone.
