His family and friends strongly declined to be his donors which was rather understandable. Shockingly his wife who had seen the worst of him and been through indescribable pain because of his alcoholism did donate 75% of her liver to save the love of her life, even with her family and friends having advised her not to take such a rather unworthy risk.
