In this video, we are going to practice using Le Chateliers principle in predicting where the equilibrium will shift in this system at equilibrium:
CH4(g) + Cl2(g) = CH3Cl(g) + HCl (g) + 110 kJ
Here are the stresses we will work on:
reducing concentration shift right or left?
adding heat to the system shift right or left?
increasing pressure shift right or left?
adding catalyst shift right or left?
🕑 Here's when you'll find:
0:28 - reducing concentration of reactant (remove HCl)
0:47 - adding heat
1:02 - increasing pressure
1:34 - adding catalyst
