Terry Alan Kath was an American musician and songwriter, best known as a founding member of the band Chicago. He played guitar and sang lead vocals on many of the band's early hit singles, and has been praised for his guitar skills and Ray Charles influenced vocal style. "Tell Me" was a song recorded for the film Electra Glide in Blue (1973), and featured on the soundtrack album. It was written by James William Guercio (producer and director), and powerfully performed by Terry Kath, who alongside fellow Chicago members Peter Cetera, Lee Loughnane, and Walter Parazaider made key cameos during the film.
