Nuova Simonelli Appia Life: Backflush Cleaning & Rinse Cycle

Follow the backflush cleaning routine demonstrated on a Nuova Simonelli Appia Life Volumetric 1 Group espresso machine. The video covers fitting the blind basket, adding espresso-machine cleaning detergent, starting the programmed cleaning cycle and completing the rinse and final flush. You'll see how the hot-water and stop controls are used on this machine and why the detergent cycle must be followed by rinsing. This is group-head backflushing, which is a different maintenance task from descaling. Use detergent that is appropriate for your machine and follow its current instructions for dose and frequency. The amount shown is the demonstration's example; check your Appia model's manual before applying the same button sequence.
