Onride: 'Deca dance' 🎡 5K/POV 2023 - Paasfoor Kortrijk

The Deca dance is a fairground attraction that can also be found in amusement parks. In carts, visitors to the attraction are rotated around each other at great speed. Since the introduction of the Breakdance in 1985, it has been very popular at fairs. A smaller number are in amusement parks. The attraction was designed by the German company HUSS Park Attractions and is a further development of the Calypso, which was very popular in the 60s and 70s. A striking aspect of the Breakdance is often the extensive use of colored lamps, which brightly illuminate the attraction in the evenings. There are many different versions of the Breakdance. In all versions, there are several independently moving crosses on a rather convex, larger base on one large circular platform, which ascends or descends. On each cross are four carts for two people. The carriages can also move independently of each other again, by means of centripetal force. Previously, there was a central steering wheel per gondola where one could steer the gondola. It was possible to get in the opposite direction of rotation at high speed. This handlebar was later removed for safety reasons.
