Among ancient trees, carved stones and centuries of prayer, a timeless question is asked: 'Why did Jesus die?' Join Rev Neil Glover as he walks through the sacred landscape of Weem Woods and Weem church near Aberfeldy, exploring the meaning of Jesus’ death and what it still speaks into our lives today. This beautiful place holds deep spiritual roots. Weem was one of the earliest recognised parishes in Scotland. Tradition tells that St Cuthbert founded an oratory and cistern at Chapel Rock around AD 650 — a place later restored by Sir David Menzies when he chose to live there as a hermit in the 15th century. The site became known as St David’s Well. Today, the woods still whisper their stories — from ancient crosses to mysterious dragon carvings linked to local legend. In this quiet and atmospheric setting, we are invited to slow down, listen, and reflect on the sacrifice, love and hope at the heart of the Christian faith. Take time to wonder and worship. Thank you to Hazel Murch from Dunkeld Cathedral as always- for the stunning piano! #WhyDidJesusDie #FaithJourney #WeemWoods #AberfeldyParishChurch #Christianity #CelticWorship #PresbyteryOfPerth
