Resin Jewelry Making | Epoxy Resin Jewelry | Step-by-Step DIY Resin Jewelry Tutorial for Beginners! 🌊✨
Learn how to make a beautiful ocean resin necklace using a simple spoon! This step-by-step tutorial is perfect for beginners who love handmade jewelry, epoxy resin crafts, and creative ways to make resin jewelry without silicone molds.
🌊 What You'll Learn in This Video
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to use an ordinary spoon as a temporary mold to create a beautiful ocean-inspired resin necklace.
I'll guide you through each step, from preparing the spoon and pouring the resin layers to adding ocean decorations, sanding the necklace, and finishing it with a clear resin layer.
You can use epoxy resin for this project, or UV resin if it is suitable for your design and layering method.
✨ Materials You'll Need: • A spoon • Epoxy resin and hardener • Sand • Transparent blue resin pigment (blue transparent resin colorant) • Clear glue • Transparent plastic sheets or film • Small seashells, pearls, and starfish decorations • Transparent ocean-themed designs, such as fish • Sandpaper • Necklace chain and jewelry findings
🌊 Step-by-Step Resin Jewelry Tutorial
Apply clear glue to the spoon before pouring the resin. This is an important step that helps the cured resin separate from the spoon more easily.
Mix the epoxy resin according to the manufacturer's instructions. Combine the first layer with sand and transparent blue resin pigment.
Pour the first resin layer into the spoon and allow it to partially cure before adding the next layer.
While the resin is still wet, place your small seashells, pearls, and starfish decorations into it so they stay in position.
Cut your transparent ocean-themed designs, such as fish, around their edges and place them into the resin. Allow the layer to cure before pouring the next layer.
After the resin has cured sufficiently, carefully remove the necklace from the spoon.
Sand the necklace as needed to smooth its edges, then pour a final layer of clear resin to give it a glossy finish and a beautiful ocean look.
Attach the necklace chain and jewelry findings. Your handmade ocean resin necklace is ready!
💡 Important Tips for Beginners
• Always apply clear glue to the spoon before pouring the resin. Without the glue, the resin can stick to the spoon and become very difficult or impossible to remove, especially if the spoon has scratches from previous use.
• Allow each resin layer to partially cure before pouring the next one. The waiting time depends on the resin you use, so follow the manufacturer's instructions.
• Add seashells, pearls, and starfish decorations while the resin is still wet. They can slide around if you place them on a fully hardened surface.
• Cut transparent plastic designs around their edges and place them into the resin while the layer is suitable for embedding. Let it cure before adding the next layer to help keep the designs in place.
• Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear suitable protective equipment, including gloves and an appropriate respirator, when working with epoxy resin.
