Ford Expedition | 2018+ | 10R80 Transmission Service @ 85k Miles

Here I change out the fluid and the filter of my MY2018 Ford Expedition with the 10R80 transmission. What I show here is for the EXPEDITION ONLY!!!! As other Ford vehicles that have the 10R80- their procedure may be slightly different. Thus, torque specifications and part number/s may also be different then what is listed below. Use what I demonstrate here as a general lose guide to complete this job on other 10R80 equipped Ford vehicles. I would highly recomend having a fluid extractor and a fluid pump as well. Please recycle the old fluid at any big box automotive store that takes oil. The part number/s listed below are current as the upload of this video. As time moves forward Ford may update part numbers. These part numbers are Motorcraft and for the Expedition. Fluid part number is Mercon XT12-QULV Filter part number is HL3Z-7A098-A Bolt holding the cooler bracket to the transmission -W715131-S437 Stabilizer bar nut- W520113-S440 ---------------- Seals/Gaskets Per Ford - They can be reused if not damged.----------------------- Pan gasket- HL3Z-7A191-B O ring for filter- 7TT4Z-7Z302-A Seal kit for the cooler pipes going into the transmission- LX6Z-7D285-A If bought from a dealer- there are two separate part numbers. Cooler hose seal-5L7Z-7D285-A Cooler Pipe O-ring-5L7Z-7J324-A ----------------------------------------- Torque specs- Fill plug- 35 ft-lb ... if it matters The filter bolts are 93 in-lb. Transmission Pan--------------------- The pan has two different torques- These bolts are torqued in a crisscross pattern. It is not specified of which bolt- stud or not- to torque down first. The stud bolts are 106 in-lb. The bolts are 89 in-lb. Heat shield nuts are 80 in-lb Transmission cooler-------------- Two bolts under the cooler- 22 ft-lb Bolt holding the cooler lines to the case is recommended to replace it. Torque spec is 22 ft-lb. Bracket bolt below the above bolt is torqued to 22 ft-lb. As you saw I did not removed that bolt. Bracket nut under the starter- 106 in-lb Left side cooler tube bracket to oil pan bolt is 27 ft-lb. (This is the hard to reach one if you have 4x4 as the front diff. is very close to this bolt.) Stabilizer bar nuts---------------- Recommended to replace them. Torque spec is 41 ft-lb. The dipstick has two possibilities for measuring the fluid level. That is letters or numbers. Cold reading. Letters- below B hash marks. Numbers- between first hash mark and number 6. Hot reading - 206F-215F Letter is the B area has marks. Numbers is between 5 & 6. Current milage at the time of service is 85K miles.
