Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy gave us two unforgettable characters: Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist. But for me, the audiobooks also gave us something else — the extraordinary narration of Saul Reichlin. In this Bertie's Books feature, I revisit The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, looking at Larsson's life, the stories themselves, and why Reichlin's performance made such a lasting impression. There's also a fascinating little book of Larsson's correspondence with his publisher, some thoughts on the later Millennium novels by David Lagercrantz, and a brief appearance from Dave, our resident literary Golden Retriever. Have you listened to the Millennium audiobooks? And is there a narrator you simply cannot imagine being replaced? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
