Today, after collecting wild mountain acorns, Akram and Ali Asghar begin peeling them to prepare them for use in the coming days. With patience and care, they remove the outer shells and get the acorns ready for storage and later use.
Acorns are a valuable natural resource in mountainous regions and have many uses in the traditional nomadic lifestyle. Akram and her family plan to use some of these acorns as food for their baby goats, while saving the rest to prepare a traditional local bread called Kalag, a type of bread that has been part of the local culture for generations.
Life in the mountains and close to nature is always full of hard work. From gathering wild forest products to preparing food for the family and livestock, every task is an important part of everyday nomadic life.
Join Akram and Ali Asghar in this video as they prepare the wild mountain acorns and share another glimpse of their simple, traditional life surrounded by beautiful nature. ❤️🌿
