Electrotherapy II: Principles of Electrical Stimulation, Part 1 (L1)

This is the first Electrotherapy lecture in the Electrotherapy course targeting second year students in the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Benha University, Egypt. In this lecture, we discuss the following items in the Principles of Electrical Stimulation: - 1. Electricity 2. Electrochemical effects of electrical stimulation 3. Ohm’s Law 4. Resistance 5. Stimulator Outputs (constant voltage or constant current) 6. Waveform (shape, amplitude and duration) 7. Pulse classification (monophasic - biphasic - polyphasic) 8. Current classification (direct - alternating - pulsed) 9. Frequency (low – medium- high) Good Luck
