Dennis Pinnock - Idi Amin - All Tone UK 12" (A.T. 006) 1978

Dennis Pinnock's magnificent deejay cut to the late great Alton Ellis produced Janet Kay cover of Minnie Ripperton's "Loving You". The subject being the so-called 'last king of Scotland', Ugandan president Idi Amin. An absolutely beautifully crafted rhythm featuring dreamy flute and birdsong. Despite the lasting popularity and numerous different releases of this record, Dennis is another under-recorded reggae artist. He was also a member of the group Four In A Row alongside Keith Douglas, Paul Dawkins and Tex Johnson. #dennispinnock #altonellis #lovingyourhythm #eggae #rootsreggae #roots #dub
