DEATH BLOOMS | Same Song, Two Approaches | Kade Turner VS The Pirate Bass #warwickbass

Two bass players. Two Warwick basses. One seriously twisted Mudvayne classic. Kade Turner and The Pirate Bass join forces for a split-screen bass playthrough of “Death Blooms” the track from Mudvayne’s landmark album L.D. 50, originally brought to life by the unmistakable playing of Ryan Martinie. For this collaboration, the original bass track has been removed, leaving the two players to lay down their own bass performances over the original backing track. The result is a direct comparison of two instruments, two approaches, and two distinct takes on a bass part that has challenged and inspired players for years. Kade Turner brings his Warwick Masterbuilt Thumb bass to the table, drawing on the instrument’s distinctive growl, focused midrange and deep low-B response. An Australian touring bassist, educator and audio enthusiast, Kade is known for his attention to tone and detail, and here he takes a cleaner, slap-oriented approach that puts his own stamp on the arrangement. Alongside him, The Pirate Bass unleashes his Warwick Corvette Pro Series, pairing its classic MM-style pickup configuration with an aggressive, distorted sound and a more direct approach to Martinie’s original bassline. No attempt at a carbon copy here: the familiar riffs are given two different voices, with each player bringing their own feel and sonic identity to the performance. 🔔 Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell so you never miss an update!
