This piece is a most famous one for the classical guitar in Taiwan. The composer is also a Taiwanese. That year he was invited to the 21st International Guitarist Symposium. A few nights before his departure, his unquiet heart brought him through Jungshan N. Rd to the Watergate on Nanjing W. Rd. Guided by the street lamps he entered through the arc. It was as if he was separated from the noise of the city streets. At the rivers bank there was a breeze and the sound of crystal waters. It took away his doubts. Under the mountain and the night sky, his eyes were fixed upon a star. Somewhere inside a temple came the chime of bells. This was the first note of Willow.
