Dolly Jain’s Saree Hack for Busy Mornings | A Teachers’ Day Tribute

Teachers spend so much of their time making sure everyone else is ready. Ready to learn, ready to grow, ready to take on the world. So this Teachers’ Day, I wanted to do something small to make their mornings a little easier. Drawing from my own experience of rushed mornings, I’m sharing one of my favourite saree hacks: pre-draping your saree the night before. I’ve shown you how I measure it, mark the pleats, pin it, fold it and keep it ready, so that when morning comes, you’re already one step ahead. Talking about teachers and sarees also takes me back to my school days. I remember my teacher, Rani Miss, who wore a saree to school every single day. I genuinely used to look forward to seeing what she would wear. Her saree would be absolutely crisp when she arrived in the morning and somehow still perfect when we left in the afternoon. Rani Miss, wherever you are today, I wish I could ask you the same question I probably would have asked you back then: “Which saree are you wearing today?” To Rani Miss, and to every teacher who taught us simply by showing up every single day, thank you for making us who we are.
