From Mai District to Dien Bien Phu, the distance is quite far and the route is very mountainous. 🚴⛰️ If you’re planning to cycle from northern Laos to Vietnam, I would recommend crossing through this border. On the Laos side, the road is quite challenging with a lot of uphill climbing, but once you reach the Vietnam side, the ride becomes much easier and you can enjoy the journey, natures and the road.
