VYAPAR: Learn History by Experiencing It | Ancient India RPG

What if you could step into history instead of just reading about it? VYAPAR is an interactive 2D historical RPG set in Ancient India around 250 BCE. Instead of learning history only through textbooks, dates and maps, players explore historical locations, interact with NPCs, complete quests, discover historical information and make decisions within the world. In the current version, players take the role of a travelling merchant and journey through places such as Ujjain, Bharukaccha, Muziris, Madurai and Pataliputra. Through exploration and trading, players experience how geography, regional resources, markets and routes were connected. Built with React, Vite, JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas, CSS and Supabase, VYAPAR combines gameplay with experiential learning. Our vision is to expand VYAPAR beyond Ancient Indian trade into different historical eras, states, regions and locations, creating a platform where learners can explore history by experiencing it.
