Botanical sketchbook spread

Come join me as I create a habitat study of a botanical subject- the giant milk weed in my sketchbook. I've used graphite and watercolours in this piece. Creating botanical illustrations is a practice of representing your subject- typically a botanical one accurately with all its defining characteristics. As someone who loves creating 'finished' artwork in just 15 minutes, the practice of botanical illustration has been pretty challenging. I'm persevering through and hopefully, will continue to :-). Thanks to the practice, I'm learning to look better, see more and truly slow down. #sketchbook #botanicalart #slowliving #botanicalillustration #asmr
