🚙 Drive America’s Highways for about 31 miles northeast along U.S. Route 412 from Paragould, Arkansas to Kennett, Missouri — crossing the St. Francis River into the wide-open farmland of Missouri’s Bootheel. The video starts on the east side of Paragould at the junction of U.S. Route 412 and U.S. Route 412 Business. From here, US-412 heads east through the outskirts of Paragould, transitioning quickly from the commercial development of one of northeastern Arkansas’ larger communities into the broad agricultural landscape that defines much of the region. The highway runs across flat terrain dominated by cultivated fields, drainage channels, scattered homes, and small rural crossroads. With long sight lines and relatively little elevation change, this section of US-412 has a distinctly different character from the hillier portions of the highway farther west in Arkansas. Continuing east, the route approaches the Arkansas-Missouri state line and crosses the St. Francis River before entering Missouri. Once in the Bootheel, US-412 turns northeast and continues through the agricultural countryside of Dunklin County. The highway passes through and near several small communities while serving as an important regional connection between northeastern Arkansas and southeastern Missouri. Much of the scenery remains open farmland, with occasional clusters of businesses, farm operations, side roads, and tree lines breaking up the otherwise expansive views across the Mississippi Alluvial Plain. As the drive approaches Kennett, the surroundings gradually become more developed. US-412 enters the Kennett area from the southwest, transitioning from rural highway to a busier commercial corridor serving the largest community in this part of Missouri’s Bootheel. The video continues along US-412 to its junction with Missouri Route 84, where this drive comes to an end.
