What if the person you love was only a few steps behind you… and all you had to do was keep walking? You Only Had To Trust Me revisits the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice from the voice of the woman left behind. Eurydice has heard Orpheus sing through the Underworld. He has faced Hades, accepted the impossible condition, and begun the long climb back to daylight. She follows him in silence. She cannot touch him. She cannot call his name. And he must not turn around. Set within the atmosphere of a lost silent film from the late 1920s, this visual story moves through expressionist shadows, the court of Hades, and a final path toward the light. Every image is held like a fragment of an old dream — until one brief glance changes everything. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LYRICS I heard your song below me, Where no morning ever came. The dead turned their faces toward you. Even darkness knew your name. Then someone opened silence, And I was told to rise. Walk behind him. Do not touch him. Do not call him back. So I followed every footstep, Counting breaths instead of time. You only had to trust me. I was there. One more step and we were free. You only had to trust me. Do not turn. Do not look back at me. The air grew warmer slowly. I could almost smell the rain. I could see the edge of daylight Like a doorway through the pain. Orpheus, I was behind you, Closer with every breath. You had already crossed the dark. You only had to trust me. Then you stopped. You turned. And for one second I saw your face. You only had to trust me. I was there. One more step and we were free. You only had to trust me. Do not turn. Do not look back at me. You only had to trust me. I was there. I was almost in the light. You only had to trust me. Now your hands Cannot hold me......through the night. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Electric Dark Cabaret for original musical stories where gothic theatre, dark classical music, electronic sound and cabaret collide. #OrpheusAndEurydice #GreekMythology #SilentFilm #DarkCabaret #DarkMusic #Mythology #Orpheus #Eurydice #Expressionism #AIMusicVideo
