Arma 3 Operations - Operation Firebreak - Manticore Operations

ZEUS: SYNC Date: 12th July 1989 Conflict: World War 3 Location: Rhineland-Palatinate near the Luxembourg border, West Germany Situation: More than a month after the Soviet invasion began, NATO forces across West Germany are being steadily pushed westward. Soviet armored formations have penetrated deep into Rhineland-Palatinate and now threaten the approaches to the Luxembourg border. As frontline units withdraw to establish new defensive positions, isolated pockets of NATO personnel remain trapped behind advancing enemy forces. Earlier today, several Apaches were shot down while attempting to slow the Soviet advance. Intelligence indicates that surviving aircrew have evaded capture and are hiding within Soviet-controlled territory. Their recovery is a priority before enemy forces can locate them. Complicating matters, reconnaissance reports have identified a Soviet ammunition depot supporting the ongoing offensive in the sector. While rescuing the downed pilots remains the primary mission, commanders have authorized an opportunistic strike against this stockpile should the situation permit. A reconnaissance force built around a SpPz 2 Luchs vehicle and attached special operations personnel will cross into contested territory, locate the survivors, destroy identified ammunition depot, and return to friendly lines. Mission: Rescue Pilots. Destroy Ammo Depot. BLUFOR: NATO, West Germany: 1x Special Forces Platoon. 2x SpPz 2A2. 2x TPz 1A0. NATO, West Germany: 2x M109G (Simplex) OPFOR: Warsaw Pact, East Germany.
