NEW MALPAIS STRAND WARLOCK — SUSPEND, UNRAVEL & TANGLE CHAOS | DESTINY 2 This Strand Warlock build is all about controlling the battlefield and making life easier for your entire fireteam. With New Malpais and the Deimosiffusion Exotic Helmet, this build focuses on spreading Suspend, Unravel, and Tangles to lock down groups of enemies and keep the battlefield under control. THE MAIN IDEA The goal of this build isn't to be the biggest damage dealer in the room. Instead, you're creating opportunities for your teammates by constantly disabling enemies, spreading Strand effects, and controlling groups of targets. Suspend enemies to take them out of the fight, apply Unravel to keep Strand damage spreading, and create Tangles that can be used to continue the chain and Suspend even more enemies. Once the loop starts going, you can keep moving from one group of enemies to another while constantly disrupting their ability to fight back. SUSPEND EVERYTHING Suspend is one of the biggest strengths of this build. Use your Strand abilities to suspend groups of enemies and temporarily remove them from the fight. This gives your teammates an easier time focusing down priority targets without having to deal with an entire group attacking at once. The key is to keep looking for the next group of enemies to suspend rather than focusing on a single target. UNRAVEL + TANGLES Unravel gives the build another layer of Strand utility. Once enemies are affected, you can continue spreading Strand effects while dealing damage. The Tangles are especially important because they help continue the crowd-control loop. Create a Tangle, use it to your advantage, and keep the chain going to Suspend additional enemies. The result is a battlefield filled with suspended enemies, unraveling targets, and Tangles ready to be used for the next wave of crowd control. DEIMOSUFFUSION The Deimosuffusion Exotic Helmet is the centerpiece of the build, helping tie the Strand-focused setup together and allowing you to lean even harder into the build's ability and crowd-control gameplay. Rather than building around pure DPS, the idea is to maximize the value you provide to the team through ability uptime and enemy control. A TEAM BUILD This is where the build really shines. You're essentially playing the role of battlefield control/support for your fireteam. While your teammates focus on damage and clearing enemies, you're: This can make regular and mid-level content feel incredibly controlled because enemies constantly struggle to stay active. NOT AN ENDGAME BUILD It's important to point out that this isn't intended to be an endgame or hardest-content build. Think of it as a fun team-focused build rather than a build designed to solo Grandmaster-level encounters. 🕸️ HOW TO USE IT The gameplay loop is pretty straightforward: Suspend enemies → Apply Unravel → Create Tangles → Use Tangles to Suspend more enemies → Repeat. Keep moving around the battlefield and look for groups of enemies that your team can take advantage of. Your job isn't necessarily to get every kill. Your job is to make sure the enemies aren't able to fight back. When your fireteam can walk into an encounter and find half the room suspended or affected by Strand, you've done your job.
