September 19, 2026 Second-ranked Georgia opened SEC play with a 45-17 win on the road at Arkansas, riding a punishing rushing attack that finished with 254 yards and three touchdowns from Chauncey Bowens, while Arkansas fought through a tough offensive day to find some late scores of its own. Georgia's defense set the tone early, with Khalil Barnes breaking up a fourth-down pass to force a turnover on downs after Arkansas had driven to the Georgia 38 on its opening possession. The Bulldogs converted that field position into a 7-0 lead on Nate Frazier's touchdown run, then added two more scores before halftime, including Bowens' 2-yard touchdown aided by a pair of Arkansas pass-interference penalties. Arkansas's defense kept battling and finally got its offense into Georgia territory late in the half, with quarterback KJ Jackson leading a drive to the red zone before an intentional grounding penalty forced Arkansas to settle for a 41-yard Max Gilbert field goal just before the break, making it 21-3 at halftime. Georgia extended the lead in the third quarter behind a blocked punt and a 61-yard touchdown pass from Gunner Stockton to Craig Dandridge Jr., pushing the margin to 38-3. Arkansas answered with its first touchdown of the day when Sutton Smith punched one in from 5 yards out to cut it to 38-10, giving the Razorback faithful a moment to cheer. Georgia turned to backup quarterback Ryan Puglisi down the stretch, who led one more scoring drive, while Arkansas tacked on a late touchdown of its own to make the final margin 45-17. Stockton finished 10 of 13 passing for 147 yards and a touchdown to go with a team-high 97 rushing yards for Georgia. For Arkansas, the ground game struggled against a stout Georgia front, managing just 17 yards on 20 carries, but the offense showed resilience in finding the end zone twice in the second half after a scoreless start, including a nice one-handed grab from receiver Chris Marshall that helped set up points. The win improved Georgia to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in SEC play.
