🐝 WHY WAS SNIPER USED ON BEES? In this 17-minute video, I take you through different parts of my beekeeping journey and some of the lessons I have learned from managing bees and hives. One of the most important and controversial parts of this video is where I talk about using a chemical around my bees years ago and explain the situation behind it. This is shared as part of my experience and education — not as an instruction or recommendation to use Sniper or other harmful chemicals around honeybees. I also show you: 🐝 A damaged beehive — what happened and what we can learn from it. 📦 Kuta box — what it is and how it relates to traditional/local beekeeping practices. 🍯 Propolis construction — I show what happens when frames are not properly positioned or spaced and how bees respond by building propolis and additional structures. 🪵 Different types of beehives — looking at different hive designs and how they are used in beekeeping. 🐝 Common hive-management mistakes — things beginners should pay attention to when managing colonies. This video is about real beekeeping, real experiences, mistakes, lessons and practical knowledge from the apiary. ⚠️ Important: Sniper/dichlorvos and similar insecticides can be highly harmful to bees and other beneficial insects. Do not copy chemical practices shown or discussed from past experiences. Always follow the product label and use bee-safe methods when managing an apiary.
