A healing music journey built on the Rast maqam, traditionally performed in the Darusshifa healing tradition of Turkish-Islamic civilization to bring a state of deep inner peace blended with quiet joy — what the ancients called "sefa." Performed at the gravest of tempos, this collection moves with absolute dignity, never rushing, never startling.
The journey opens with the heaviest of entrances — slow, resonant strokes grounding the listener immediately into stillness. Note by note, the two voices descend into the lower frequencies, adding acoustic weight and deepening the calm. A slow, listening dialogue begins, with long silences between each note — the spaces themselves becoming part of the healing. The center of the journey lets the sound linger and fade naturally, filling the room with acoustic depth. The Grave tempo holds its steady, unshakeable pace as the Rast maqam's brightening character is introduced — not through speed, but through a slow, patient climb into the mid-registers. Both voices lock into unison, moving through the same slow melody in absolute unity, reaching the most resonant and fulfilled point of the composition without ever disturbing the stillness. In the final movement, the notes grow sparse, the long strokes fewer, until the sound surrenders entirely into natural silence — and absolute peace.
