This Kedarnath Yatra October 2023 vlog covers the full Sonprayag to Gaurikund distance and Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple trek. Most people to reach kedarnath by walking. Trek to Kedarnath: The main way to reach the temple is by trekking from Gaurikund. The trekking distance is around 16-18 km, and it usually takes about 6-8 hours to complete. The trek route is well-marked and passes through picturesque landscapes. This 16-18kms walk from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham is an integral part of Kedarnath Yatra. People can reach Shri Kedarnath Temple by walking/trekking,Ponies,Palanquins (Dandi),Kandi and Helicopter. At 9:30 o’clock in the morning on 1st October 2023 , i started the journey from Somprayag to Gaurikund by Taxi.Taxi fare is Rs.50 from Sonprayag to Gaurikund.I started trekking from Gaurkund to Kedarnath at 11 o’clock in morning. Ghoda Padav is about half a kilometer from Gaurikund, from where you can hire ponies, palanquins (Dandi),Kandi etc. The 1st stop that comes after Gaurikund is Bhairav ​​Temple. Which is 2 kms away from Gaurikund and after walking half a kilometer from this Bhairav ​​temple comes the 2nd stop Jungle Chatti. The market of Jungle Chatti is also very big and there are many options for breakfast and lunch. After Jungle Chatti, the next main stop is Bheembali, which is about 6 kms away from Gaurikund. On the way a small temple of Lord Hanuman comes and this point is known as Hanuman Chatti. The next main stop in this trek is Rambada which is about 1 km from Bheembali. From Rambada you have to cross Mandakini river and from this point you go to the other side of the mountain. After crossing the bridge in Rambada, now the next stop comes Chhoti Lincholi. Chhoti Lincholi is about 8.5 kms from Gaurikund and about one and a half kilometers from Rambada.You can also hire a pony from here.Now the next stop comes to Badi Lincholi, which is 2.5 kms away from Chhoti Lincholi. Now comes the next stop Chani Camp which is about 1 km away from Badi Lincholi. After climbing 2 kms from Chani camp, now comes last Ghoda Padav. The trek from Kedarnath Base Camp to Kedarnath Temple is one and a half kilometer and the path is a bit flat. Many pilgrims who are unable to commence the trek avail the chopper services from Phata, Sersi, Sitapur, Guptkashi, Dehradun and Delhi to pay obeisance at the Kedarnath temple. If you are coming to Kedarnath Dham by helicopter, then it lands you about 700 metres before Kedarnath temple. This helipad is about one and a half kilometer away from Kedarnath base camp. October month is the best month for Kedarnath trekking/Yatra because of in this month weather is very pleasant.In October month weather doesn’t so cold and less chance for regular rain.
