Welcome to Delmar Christian Center! What does it really mean to be free in Jesus Christ? Does Christian freedom mean we can live however we choose, or has Christ set us free for a greater purpose? In Part 2 of our four-part series on the Fruit of the Spirit, Pastor Douglas continues our study of Galatians 5, exploring the meaning of Christian liberty and the freedom we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul reminds believers to stand firm in the freedom Christ has given us and not become entangled again in the bondage of the law. But this freedom is not permission to continue living in sin. Rather, it is the freedom to turn away from sin, grow in righteousness, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts and lives. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” — Galatians 5:1 In this message: • What it means to experience true freedom in Christ • Why Christian liberty is not permission to continue in sin • The difference between following the law and living by faith • How Jesus Christ fulfilled the law • Why salvation cannot be earned through religious traditions or outward observances • Understanding Paul's warning about returning to the bondage of the law • Why faith working through love is central to the Christian life • How Christians should respond to disagreements over religious practices and traditions • Why believers need patience and understanding toward those who are still growing in faith • The importance of repentance when we fall into sin • How the Holy Spirit gives us strength to overcome temptation • Why spiritual growth begins with allowing God to change our own hearts Throughout this message, Pastor Douglas emphasizes that Christianity is not about achieving perfection through our own efforts. It is about following a perfect Savior who gives us the grace, strength, and freedom to grow in Him. We may stumble. We may struggle. We may find ourselves facing the same temptations again and again. But through Jesus Christ, we are no longer required to remain enslaved to those struggles. When we fall, we can humble ourselves before God, confess our sins, repent, and ask Him for the strength to do what is right. The Christian life is not about pretending we have everything figured out. It is about recognizing our need for Christ and allowing Him to continue His work within us. As we grow in our relationship with Jesus, the Holy Spirit begins producing the fruit that reflects God's character—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And as Pastor Douglas reminds us, we should extend that same love and patience to our fellow believers, recognizing that we are all continuing to learn and grow. We are not set free to return to sin. We are set free to follow Christ. Stand firm in His grace. Walk in His love. Allow the Holy Spirit to transform your life. 🙏 If this message encourages or challenges you, please Like, Share, and Subscribe for more biblical teaching from Delmar Christian Center.
