" 'DESEJO' in Portuguese means 'wish', 'desire', 'pleasure' or 'longing' and that's exactly what this project means to me and how I felt when Odair Assad asked me to compose something for his 'solo' project. I transferred these very same feelings into writing it, resulting in something very flashy, full of bliss, energy and spontaneity. I also felt a calling to return to my compositional roots - jazz and improvisation. I'm honored to write and dedicate this piece to my musical hero and living legend Odair Assad.
