Bebop Drumming on a 1950's Gretsch Broadkaster Kit.

This video has three parts that run seamlessly and are all in the 1950's/60's BeBop style. Part 1 is short extract ofJazz, Part 2 is Latin and Part 3 is a cover of theMax Roach classic, 'THE DRUM ALSO WALTZES' from his 1965 Album 'Drums Unlimited'. It is a wonderful exercise in hands and feet independence in 3/4 time. The bass drum playing beat 1 and the hi-hat beat 2 whilst the 3rd is taceted. The hands play an opening and closing phrase but the rest is free form over the ridged hi-hat. Try it, it is quite tricky but a great exercise in independence. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this classic jazz drum piece.
