The Arunika mango is a modern hybrid mango variety developed by the Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH), India. It is a cross between Amrapali and Vanraj mango varieties.
Description of Arunika Mango
Fruit shape: Medium to large, oval to oblong
Skin color: Orange-yellow with an attractive red blush when ripe
Pulp: Deep yellow to orange, smooth and fiberless
Taste: Very sweet, juicy, aromatic, with mild acidity balance
Texture: Firm, non-fibrous flesh suitable for fresh eating and juice
Tree type: Semi-dwarf and compact canopy
Bearing habit: Regular and high-yielding
Ripening season: Mid to late season (generally May–July)
Shelf life: Better shelf life than many traditional varieties
