Can we see Africa's Jobs Future in what we are doing today?
This is Week 2 of the seven-week continental inquiry, Development Plans: Delivering Africa's Jobs Future Sooner.
In Week 1, participants stood in 2063 and developed their first picture of the Jobs Future they would expect to see if Africa had succeeded. In Week 2, we begin testing that future against evidence.
The session introduces the Line of Sight: can we trace Africa's Jobs Future from Agenda 2063, through regional frameworks and national long-term visions, into current National Development Plans, local development plans, investments and delivery?
Participants work with their country's Development Planning Package, use AI-assisted analysis to locate and organize evidence, return to original documents to verify important findings, and compare the evidence with the future they described in Week 1.
The central question is:
Can we trace Africa's 2063 Jobs Future through our Development Plans to what is being delivered today?
The task is not simply to summarize Development Plans. The task is to trace the future through them.
The inquiry brings together Country Teams contributing evidence toward one shared question:
How can Africa use its Development Plans to deliver its Jobs Future sooner?
Many countries. One inquiry. One African future.
