Brain in a Jar (A Whisperer in Darkness) By Little Lord Baltimore (Halloween Songs)

Brain in a Jar – Little Lord Baltimore (31 Halloween Songs in 31 Days) (From H.P. Lovecraft’s The Whisperer in Darkness) The voice on the cylinder is still his. The body in the chair is not. Little Lord Baltimore takes the October run into the Vermont hills for Brain in a Jar. Whispered names in the dark. Fungi from Yuggoth that do not need lungs. A metal cylinder that keeps a mind talking after the rest of the man has been set aside. The Outer Ones do not kill the way a wolf kills. They collect. They record. They leave a perfect imitation sitting by the fire while the real one speaks from a jar. Lyrics Brain in the jar By little Lord Baltimore [Verse one] I’m the brain in the jar Sitting in my chair Won’t you come fly with me? Fly with me Would you like to soar endlessly? Would you like to live deliciously? Show me wondrous sites Take me far away Soaring over dark nights Never-ending day Show me distant skies Take me far away I have traveled far Sitting in my chair Won’t you come and join with me? Join with me Would you like to soar endlessly? Would you like to live deliciously? Show me wondrous sites Whisper in my ear Soaring over dark nights There is nothing to fear Show me distant skies Forever locked away Would you like to soar endlessly? Would you like to live deliciously? Sore endlessly Live deliciously Sore endlessly Live deliciously Little Lord Baltimore Soaring endlessly No dungeon. No Court. Just the porch light, a phonograph, and a voice that should not still be speaking. Performed with theatrical dread by Little Lord Baltimore.
