Instead, we are using our "imagination eyes" to look at the bright illustrations and tell a brand-new, zooming tale called The Little Duck Is Driving His Red Truck! As a trained Early Years teacher, I love this activity because it champions "reading the pictures." It gives pre-readers the independence to enjoy books on their own, builds rich oral vocabulary as they describe the driving scenes, and shows children that the exact same book can hold a completely new adventure every time we open it!
