“Call it ‘khayali pulav’ but whenever I saw actors on screen, I always imagined —’Ohh what would I do if I was the heroine in this movie?’ When I first saw Ranveer and Deepika act in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, it inspired me —they even made the most difficult parts look so easy. This is something that stayed with me. Now years later, when I got the chance to work with Alia Bhatt, the student in me was excited. With her, everyday is a masterclass in acting.”
From being inspired by actors on screen to being one, here’s Sharvari —a dreamer who is making her mark in the industry one scene at a time. Her journey began from behind the camera, assisting and learning all about acting and directing. And what started as a behind-the-scenes passion has now transformed into a trailblazing career in front of the camera, as she continues to break barriers and redefine success in the industry. With unwavering determination and an unrelenting drive, she is on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with.
In this episode, Sharvari took us through her journey of becoming an actress, dealing with success, working with Alia Bhatt, her experience with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and much more. She also spoke to us about love, her take on item numbers in Bollywood and how the roles of women have evolved over the years.

About Humans of Bombay –
Humans of Bombay is a movement that started 10 years ago. We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith, and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 6M!
Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalog the beat of humanity, one story at a time.
